Direct Cremations now!

Updated: Jan 24

Funerals have been conducted for many many years, every culture has some form of ritual when someone passes away and this can vary greatly from country to country, one religions to another.

In today's times cremations are more sort after but with the current climate we have seen a massive increase in Direct Cremations....

Direct Cremations now! What are they?

A Direct Cremation is where a loved one who has sadly passed away is cremated without an attended ceremony. Most of the funeral directors offer this service and it is much less costly than a traditional funeral. Traditional attended funerals usually cost on average about £4,383* for a burial and £3,290* for a cremation. With the current cost of living crisis, this is a fairly substantial amount to find if you do not have a funeral plan in place. The average cost of a Direct Cremation in the UK is approximately £1,554* which you can see is a big difference in cost.

A Direct Cremation offers a dignified and simple service without family and friends present which some people find hard as they feel they are unable to have closure after their loved one has passed away.... Others feel it is a perfect way to say "Goodbye" as they can have their own little get-together/ time to reflect on their loved ones life on their own/ listen to their loved ones favourite piece of music at home at the same time as the direct cremation takes place.

We are in a world of many changes, changes happening all the time so as with everything, funeral directors are moving with the times, offering services to accommodate what people are looking for.

The type of funeral you decide to have is entirely personal choice, some discuss with their family others know what they want and put their wishes in place before they pass away. So it is basically whatever you decide and the funeral directors are able to offer a wide variety of options to suit the majority of your requests.

We as a funeral support company working for traditional funeral directors, direct cremation companies we remain open minded, but we'd love to hear your thoughts on the subject?
